1. Tell us about your current role; what does the job entail? My current role in IPF is Senior Life and Pensions Administrator and Transfer Specialist. I work within the new business team, processing cases and managing them through completion for the client. I also participate in training within my own team and other teams across the company. 2. How long have you worked in IPF? I have been working at IPF since August 2020. 3. What attracted you to working there? What stood out to me while searching for a new role were the great opportunities IPF offers employees, particularly in career progression and the training provided. I loved how IPF engages in a lot of charity work; there is always something happening, between Christmas Jumper day, charity football games, runs or cycles. I spent a lot of my free time volunteering with kids at my local youth club, so I knew I would be working with people who aligned with my values. 4. Tell us about your average day. I typically start my day by responding to any outstanding emails. I check my individual queue and review and process any transfers that have been submitted by the advisors. I review open cases and follow up with Life companies and advisors on outstanding tasks that may be open. Meetings are in my diary most days; these could be with our partner life companies or internal meetings. Throughout the day, I assisting my team on any queries they have. I also look after the issue report which involves various tasks, Including adding on new starters, issuing cases and making sure all information on the report is up-to-date. 5. What do you enjoy about your job? I love the team I work with; it’s a close-knit group where we all support each other. If I ever feel under pressure, I know I have a support system there who is happy to help out. I also enjoy how my job challenges me and pushes me in my professional career; I have been given a lot of responsibility, and I feel trusted with it. 6. What are the challenges? Things can become high-pressured from time to time, I’ve had to learn how to prioritise my tasks and stay on top of my workload. Delegating my own tasks is something I find difficult; I had to learn that I can’t do everything myself and sometimes it’s ok to ask for help. 7. Describe the work culture in the company. IPF has a great support system and a healthy work environment. People feel like they belong and matter, not just within their own team but within the wider IPF family. It’s a very collaborative working environment and we all want to see our colleagues reach their professional goals. 8. What advice would you give to somebody interested in working there? Be prepared to work hard. IPF is a fantastic company with excellent opportunities to progress and advance in your career, but you have to be willing to put the effort in. 9. Is there something unique or interesting about your company that you’d like to share with potential job seekers? All non-sales staff benefit from Flexi Time. the company introduced this last year, and it’s great for creating a better work-Life balance, which I love. 10. Any additional questions or details that you consider relevant to your recent promotion journey? I started at IPF 4 years ago with very little experience in this type of role. IPF gave me a chance and hired me. Since then, I have seen myself grow tremendously, both professionally and personally. They have provided me with all the training and confidence I need to excel in my role.
