1. Tell us about your current role; what does the job entail? My role as a Financial Advisor involves meeting with clients, identifying their financial goals, and structuring plans to help them achieve those goals. 2. How long have you worked in IPF? I have been with IPF for 18 months. 3. What attracted you to working there? I was drawn to IPF by the prospect of building a long-term career with continuous opportunities for progression and self-improvement. 4. Tell us about your average day. My typical day includes two / three financial consultations. These are generally a blend of meetings with existing clients and prospective ones. I aim to schedule my appointments about a week in advance. Additionally, I focus on arranging group presentations for various Public Sector bodies. These presentations are part of wellbeing initiatives designed to update staff on pension changes and help them better understand their pension schemes. 5. What do you enjoy about your job? I find great satisfaction in helping people achieve their goals. It’s incredibly rewarding when a client feels comfortable with their plan and they come away a clear framework of what they need to do to reach their goals. 6. What are the challenges? Organisation is the biggest challenge I have faced, there are a lot of moving parts to this role, and staying on top of things is vital. 7. Describe the work culture in the company. The culture here is excellent. It’s a collaborative learning environment that has greatly supported my progress. Now, I feel confident in helping newer recruits, contributing to the same supportive atmosphere that benefited me. This works very well as I have been in their shoes and no doubt faced the same challenges. 8. What advice would you give to somebody interested in working there? If you are willing to challenge yourself and continuously improve, you will be rewarded. 9. Is there something unique or interesting about your company that you’d like to share with potential jobseekers? The onboarding process was great, I had all the support and resources you could want. As I mentioned before, the senior advisors have all been at the start of this process, too, and are more than willing to help you navigate your way through your career.
